The House of Representative's Mishandling of Mohammed Ben Salmani

Hopefully America and, more specifically, our House of Representatives will learn to deal with nations in terms of global reality rather than as small town sheriffs dealing with car thieves.  Don't get me wrong.  I have no problem with how our law enforcement men and women deal with car thieves.
However, global politics is a different game entirely.

Our main adversaries are China and Russia.  And let us not omit Iran and Turkey.  In this world, assassination and torture are practices followed by each and every one of the listed countries.  That does not mean we should  defend or adopt such practices.  It is said simply to underscore that our indignation over these practices will have little or no effect on nations practicing them.

As to Saudi Arabia's assassination of Khashoggi:
Khashoggi had an affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, a major proponent of Islamic terrorism.  As to him being a reporter; we should recall that the British placed their spy, Kim Philby, in Beirut as a journalist.

If the Saudis are guilty of anything, it's carrying on an assassination in a highly amateurish  manner.

Taking the Saudi prince to task for his taking out Khashoggi will leave American interests in tatters.
The Saudis will simply shut out America in their future plans, and turn to countries like China and Pakistan to further their interests.  It has already begun to happen.  What exactly is it that the U.S. House of Representatives doesn't get about foreign affairs?
