Trump Hitting All The Notes

Trump has not been the favorite of the Republican establishment.   Does this really have to be spelled out?  He's questioned oh so many Republican mantras.  He speaks to the middle class who, for many years, have seen no improvement of their economic position.  Republicans love free trade, but what has it done for the working man.  Immigration policies were never seriously challenged by the Republicans.  But rightly or wrongly, American working men and women see unregulated immigration as one source of their economic woes.

We can all see that Obama's foreign policy has been a disaster, but that do the Republicans offer in its stead?   The man in the street might not be able to distinguish between Sunni and Shiia, but what little he knows of the Quran is enough to convince him that this Muslim religion shows a hostility to their beliefs.  Has the Republican party dealt with this question?

Trump has addressed all these issues.  Perhaps he has done it in a somewhat crude and simplistic way.  But at least  he has taken up these concerns of many of America's citizens.

And, now he has struck one more note in American life -- the protest groups coming largely from the left.   Groups like MoveOn.org and Black-Lives-Matter.  He has shown them for what they are -- thugs and storm troopers.  The average American who's followed events in Ferguson knows that this unfortunate city has suffered and my continue to suffer from many social problem.  And, indeed, some my stem from improper policing.  But, they also know that Michael Brown was a thug and a thief.

People on the Morning Joe show say Trump should never have called for a rally in Chicago, a place that has been a Democratic stronghold for generations.  Is that to say there are no Republicans in Chicago?  Are they suggesting that there are places in America where one party or another may not set forth it's message.

When Nazis marched in Skokie they were not banned.  Nevertheless, Skokie's citizens had no trouble demonstrating their disapproval.  And they did it without violence.  Is it not possible for other elements within our country to behave in this manner?

You may not like Trump, but at least give him the credit for raising the issues.
